Figma opened its canvas to AI agents and expanded its MCP server, letting agents design directly in files and connect to outside tools. It's moving from launch hype into real team workflows.
Figma's canvas agent (open beta) can now generate and remix designs, run custom "skills," and read/write files. The MCP server lets it hook into other tools — pulling context in and pushing changes out — so an agent can, say, check your design tokens then update a linked doc. For junior designers on Figma, this means AI can now touch your actual files, not just suggest ideas in a chat window.
