We looked for UK design job listings explicitly asking for MCP or AI-agent experience and couldn't verify any yet. The underlying tooling shift is real and dated, though, so it's worth getting ahead of it quietly.
We went looking for evidence that UK product/UX job specs are asking for 'MCP' or 'AI agent workflow' experience specifically, and honestly couldn't verify that from the sources available to us this week. What is verifiable: Figma, GitHub, Notion, Supabase and others have all shipped hosted, OAuth-secured MCP servers as of early August 2026 (per Firecrawl's developer tooling roundup) — a real, dated infrastructure shift.
**Label: hype (on the hiring claim specifically).** The tooling is genuinely adoption-stage; the idea that UK recruiters are actively screening for it is not something we can confirm, so don't lead your CV with 'MCP expert.'
What's safe: quietly building one small, honest example of using an AI/MCP-connected workflow, so you have something concrete to talk about if it comes up in an interview — rather than claiming a skill the market hasn't asked for yet.
